Types Of Fall Safety Equipment For Your Workplace

There are a number of different types of fall safety equipment that are recommended for usage and we’re going to show you the different classes that they come in as well.
Class 1: These are body belts which may be single or double D-rings, designed to restrain people who are in hazardous work positions. They reduce the possibility of falls, but they should only be used for proper positioning.
Class 2: These are chest harnesses which are used for limited fall hazards or for the purpose of retrieving persons from tanks, bins, etc.

Rope Lanyard: These are used for restraining falls and they also have some useful elastic properties.
Web Lanyard: These are great for restraining fall hazards where the heights are less than 2 feet high.
Cable Positioning: These are designed for environments which are exposed to excessive heat or corrosive materials. They must be used along with shock absorption devices.
Shock Absorbers: These are used to reduce the fall arresting force in case a fall occurs.
Rope Grabs: These are deceleration devices which are attached to a lifeline and used to help the worker safely ascend or descend a height and arrest their fall.
Retractable Lifeline Systems: These offer mobility and fall protection when working at heights or in fall hazardous areas.
Safety Nets: These nets are used to decrease the fall exposure when the fall distance is more than 25 feet and when employees are working where there aren’t scaffolds or temporary floor.
Rail Systems: These systems can be attached onto curved surfaces and fixed ladders to reliably prevent falls.
