Course Outline
Powder Actuated Tools
General information on course
A powder-actuated tool is a device that gets its power from an explosive charge. The tool uses the expanding gas from the explosion to drive a fastener into materials such as masonry, concrete, steel, and other hard surfaces. Only trained, competent, and authorized persons are permitted to operate a PAT. Unauthorized or improper use of a PAT could result in serious injury or death. This course is designed for participants to develop the correct operating procedures in handling, maintaining, firing and storing powder actuated tools. Participants must successfully complete and pass both the theoretical and practical components of this course to receive their record of training (ROT).
