- Use your other hand to place on the top of the first hand, with your palms facing down and interlock your second hand’s fingers between your first hand’s fingers.
- Ensure that your arms are straight and rigidly positioned by positioning your body directly over your ‘clasped’ hands.
- Push onto the person’s chest by using your upper body strength. Lock your elbows to push – don’t flex your elbows.
- Do 30 chest compressions on the victim and press down about 2 inches or 5 cm for each. These can help to improve the heartbeat or correct irregular heart rhythms.
