General information on course

More than half of scaffold accidents in Ontario construction are falls. Several fatalities are also related to scaffolds each year. The number and severity of injuries involved make scaffold accidents one of the more serious safety problems in the workplace.

Approximately 3-5 hours

Who Should Attend:

This program has been developed for anyone that works on or near scaffolds.

What You Will Learn

Upon the successful completion of this safety training program, participants will understand:

  • The legislative requirements (Government Regulations and CSA Standards);
  • The duties and responsibilities of workplace parties;
  • How to safely use scaffolds.

After This Workshop You Will Be Able To:

To successfully pass this course, participants must demonstrate the following:

  • Identifying scaffolding hazards;
  • Recognizing safe scaffold setups;
  • Knowing legislative requirements;
  • Using safe practices.

By means of group discussion, case studies and one-on-one instruction, participants will gain the ability to apply what they learn in this course.
