Emergency First Aid/CPR

General information on course

This emergency first aid health and safety course is designed for participants with little or no working knowledge of what to do in a medical emergency or life-threatening situation. After successfully completing and passing this course, participants will receive their Emergency First Aid and CPR (Level C) Certificate and record of training (ROT).

Duration:

One full day depending on the size of group and participant interaction.

Who Should Attend:

This course has been designed for individuals who wish to be certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR (Level C).

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

After completing this health and safety training session, participants will understand:

The legislative requirements (Government Regulations, CSA Standards and Manufacturers’ Guidelines and Principles);
The duties and responsibilities of all workplace stakeholders;
Human airways, breathing and circulation;
Communicable diseases;
Rescue breathing.

AFTER THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

Assist someone who is experiencing a heart attack or stroke;
Respond appropriately when someone is choking or goes into shock;
Dress wounds and stop bleeding;
Respond appropriately to muscular/skeletal emergencies;
Deal with diabetic emergencies;
Use an Automated External Defibrillation unit.

By means of group discussion, case studies and one-on-one instruction, participants will gain the ability to apply what they learn in this course.
